Crypto.com's flagship virtual asset (cryptocurrency) exchange NFT project 'Loaded Lions' announced its ambition to grow into a 'second Pudgy Penguins' through token ecosystem expansion, game releases, and a global IP strategy.
Loaded Lions (LION) started as Crypto.com's first premier NFT drop and has focused on popularizing meme-based IP (meme coin) primarily in the Asian market. In the third quarter, it ran outdoor advertising campaigns around Gangnam in Seoul, participated in the 2025 Korea Blockchain Week (KBW), and increased its recognition by being listed in KRW on domestic exchange Coinone.
At TOKEN2049 held in Singapore, it showcased the combination of IP and entertainment branding, demonstrating potential to expand into a global NFT IP with region-specific cultural strategies.
The flagship web3 game 'Loaded Lions: Mane City' is a strategy P2E (Play to Earn) game where players build a city to earn rewards; a mobile version is scheduled for release in the second half of this year. Millions of new users are expected to join, and the utility token $LION is expected to expand liquidity as it is used for payments, staking, and governance.
Loaded Lions is also pursuing real-world expansion. By releasing collectible toys and collaborating with French fashion brand BLVCK PARIS, it is building a merchandise line and expanding the NFT IP into real cultural assets.
The project's growth drivers are community-centered storytelling and event operations. In May, it set a Guinness World Record with the largest drone show in the cryptocurrency industry, and in the 'Mane City Season 3' competitive event it put up a total prize of $750,000. Additionally, related content on global GIF platform GIPHY surpassed 25,000,000 cumulative views, expanding its recognition in popular culture.
