The product will be launched through BN Fondos, which manages BN's investment division. This marks the first cryptocurrency investment vehicle offered by the Costa Rican banking sector. Pablo Montes de Oca, General Manager of BN Fondos, explained, "Costa Rican law does not allow investment in instruments that are not considered investment vehicles," adding "While Bitcoin is not considered an investment vehicle from a regulatory perspective, ETFs are investment vehicles." Meanwhile, there is currently no official cryptocurrency legislation in Costa Rica.

Bybit CEO Ben Zhou stated through X (formerly Twitter) on the 21st (local time), "Even if we cannot recover losses from hacking, all customer assets on the exchange are guaranteed 1:1," adding that "we can sufficiently compensate for the losses."

As Coinbase and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) agreed to withdraw their lawsuit, Eleanor Terrett, Fox Business reporter, stated on X (formerly Twitter) on the 21st (local time) that "XRP's case is procedurally more complicated than Coinbase's."
