Ripple announced on the 5th that the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization platform Ondo Finance will introduce tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds on the Ripple Ledger (XRPL).

Notably, institutional investors using the Ripple Ledger will be able to access the Ondo Short-Term U.S. Government Bond (OUSG), supported by the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL). This product will enable 24/7 issuance and redemption using the USD-based stablecoin Ripple USD (RLUSD).

This collaboration is part of Ripple's plan to expand the adoption of tokenized RWAs. Previously, Ripple has been focusing on expanding the RWA market within its network by investing in tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds (TBILL) through OpenEden.

Ripple highlighted the advantages of Ondo Finance introducing OUSG on the Ripple Ledger, such as ▲institutional-grade security, ▲expanded accessible liquidity, and ▲the creation of a seamless RWA trading environment. Marcus Infanger, Senior Vice President of RippleX, stated, "The 24-hour same-day settlement using tokenized assets like OUSG symbolizes an innovative change in capital flow management and will provide a revolutionary turning point in terms of transaction time and settlement."
