Legal and Financial Circles: "Allowing Corporate Accounts is Positive for Both Investors and Businesses"
Summary
- It is predicted that allowing corporate accounts will enhance the market efficiency of the virtual asset market and contribute to preventing unfair trading.
- It was reported that corporate investors can play a role in protecting individual investors by detecting scam coins in advance.
- Allowing corporate accounts will make it easier for virtual asset businesses to convert to cash and could lead to more attractive businesses in the long term.

At the 'National Assembly Forum for the Enactment of the Digital Asset Basic Act' held in the 9th conference room of the National Assembly in Yeouido, attendees predicted that allowing corporate accounts would have a positive impact on the virtual asset industry.
On the 6th, Hwang Hyun-il, a lawyer at Sejong Law Firm, stated in a presentation at the 'National Assembly Forum for the Enactment of the Digital Asset Basic Act' that "the domestic virtual asset market is restricted from corporate investors' participation," and "the best way to enhance market efficiency is through the participation of corporate investors." Market efficiency refers to the degree to which all information is quickly and accurately reflected in prices.
He predicted, "If market efficiency is enhanced through the participation of corporate investors, it will eventually prevent unfair trading of virtual assets," and "corporate investors will act as stewards protecting individual investors."
Given that corporate investors are more professional in investment than individual investors, they can detect scam coins in advance. He noted, "In the fintech industry, there have been many cases where institutional investors have filtered out fraudulent products," and "this can also prevent damage to individual investors."
There was also an opinion that allowing corporate accounts would greatly benefit virtual asset businesses. Hong Sung-wook, a researcher at NH Investment & Securities, said, "Currently, when domestic companies receive investments in virtual assets or are paid transaction fees, it is difficult to convert them into cash," and "allowing corporate accounts will be a great help to domestic virtual asset businesses."
He anticipated, "If corporate accounts are allowed, these difficulties will be resolved," and predicted that more attractive virtual asset businesses could emerge in the long term.
