Bithumb expands KYC support to include private financial app authentication such as KakaoBank

Virtual asset (cryptocurrency) exchange Bithumb said on the 16th that it will expand support in the customer verification (KYC) process to include mobile ID authentication via major financial platforms.

After being the first in the country to simultaneously support the mobile resident registration card and mobile driver's license, Bithumb has now broadened the scope to allow authentication through private financial apps as well.

The supported apps are ▲KakaoBank ▲Toss ▲Naver ▲KB Star Banking ▲NH All One Bank ▲Samsung Wallet ▲government app, and on iOS they are available via KakaoBank, Toss, and the government app.

From after the Bithumb app update on the 15th, users can choose to authenticate the mobile resident registration card or driver's license they received during the KYC process via either a private app or the government app.

A Bithumb representative said, "This expansion of mobile ID application is part of efforts to provide customers with an easier and safer authentication environment," adding, "We will continue to pursue innovation so that customers can trade more easily and safely in step with the government's digital innovation policy."
