The XRP Ledger (XRPL) core server software 'rippled' has been updated to version 3.0.0. This release focuses on strengthening network stability and consists of a large-scale patch that includes protocol cleanup, performance improvements, and numerous bug fixes.

On the 9th (local time), U Today reported that rippled v3.0.0 includes extensive fixes across consensus stability, ledger entry processing, peer connections, RPC behavior, the build system, CI pipelines, and dependency updates. It is regarded as an update close to a structural reorganization of the entire codebase.

This version also includes a new protocol-level amendment. The amendment addresses missing keylet fields in certain ledger objects, and XRPL uses the amendment mechanism to apply protocol changes across the network.

The release also contains preliminary code cleanup in preparation for the future introduction of lending functionality. The code structure has been reorganized, laying the foundation for related feature expansion.

Previously, version 2.6.2 introduced the fixDirectoryLimit amendment to remove the existing directory page limit, and fixed an issue in the batch structure that groups multiple transactions where the server could crash if all inner transactions were invalid. It also included preliminary work to expand the 'smart escrow' feature.
