Bithumb announced on the 6th that it has secured the highest level of liquidity among domestic virtual asset exchanges over the past month.
According to data from market data company Kaiko, Bithumb had the largest order book depth, a representative liquidity indicator, among domestic exchanges during the recent four weeks (February 2 - March 1).
This data was compiled based on the amount of order book depth within (+/-) 1% of the daily average price of virtual assets, targeting the two exchanges with the most trading volume in Korea (Bithumb and Company A).
The analysis showed that the liquidity indicator, which had been dominated by Company A until January, reversed for the first time in February, with Bithumb beginning to surpass Company A.
Analyzing approximately 150 virtual assets simultaneously listed on both exchanges, Bithumb's average order book depth within (+/-) 1% of the price over the recent four weeks was 1.7857 trillion won, exceeding Company A's 1.6779 trillion won. Even comparing the top 30 trading pairs listed on both exchanges by trading volume, Bithumb recorded 1.4765 trillion won, while Company A recorded 1.3509 trillion won, showing Bithumb's advantage.
Bithumb also showed superior liquidity for the top five coins by market capitalization. ▲For Bitcoin, Bithumb recorded 18 billion won in liquidity, while Company A recorded 14.1 billion won. ▲For Ethereum, they recorded 43.7 billion won and 35.5 billion won, respectively. ▲Ripple (Bithumb 104.6 billion won, Company A 91.5 billion won), ▲Tether (Bithumb 1.0558 trillion won, Company A 934.4 billion won), and ▲Solana (Bithumb 37.6 billion won, Company A 19.1 billion won) also showed higher liquidity metrics for Bithumb compared to Company A.
A Bithumb representative explained, "Order book depth is significant as it is a representative liquidity indicator and a leading indicator that can anticipate future increases in trading volume," adding, "We will continue to do our best to provide investors with richer liquidity and a stable trading environment."
